Apr 6 Plant Studies: Spring Magnolias

Flowers, Uncategorized, Kent and Sussex

Magnolia trees in bloom are one of the sure signs that Spring has truly sprung! A fantastic location to see these trees is Marwood Hill Gardens in Devon where they have a beautiful and varied collection and many of the photos were taken at this particular spot. It is like stepping into a magnolia wonderland!

Closer to home, I visited Pashley Manor Gardens where they have a stunning specimen.

The wonderful thing about these trees is you can find them pretty much everywhere, most streets seem to have them!

Foxglove flurry. I stumbled upon this little area of coppiced wood and foxgloves were sprouting up everywhere- one of my favorite flowers and much loved by the bees too. They seem to pop up anywhere and everywhere.

I'm not too sure what this plant is- any plant enthusiasts know? But the bees absolutely love it- it's covered in them all day long.
