Fire & Snow: a Lake District Sunset
These photos were taken in late April on my last visit to the Lake District. The area was experiencing a particularly cold snap of weather which resulted in the mountains being covered in an unusually large covering of snow for this time of year. Winter seemed to be giving us one last blast before relinquishing its hold to Spring. My Gran's house overlooking Lake Windermere provides beautiful views of the mountains on the skyline and on both nights I was there the sunsets were just magical. They seemed to get more and more dramatic by the moment creating a fusion of snow and fiery hues which simply ignited the skies.
On this trip I also visited Rydal Hall which has a very intriguing garden with a sculpture trail. A great spot to find some peace and serenity.
